This Artwork is inspired by Polyfjord. I played around with caustics and i finally got to try out CyclesX in Blender 3.0 and it’s quite fast!

Caustic Lighting

An Area-Light with the node tree, together with volumetrics creates the illusion of caustics.

Node Tree

The trick is to overlap two Vornoi Textures and calculate the difference between them. Vizualized with a Colorramp.

It's the same technique used in the LED-Tunnel Project
